A fantastic way to showcase a student’s collection of works is to publish them in a book. Self-publishing is an inexpensive and innovative way to reward a budding author or artist. We found lulu.com to be a very inexpensive way to publish a small collection of poems and related art work done by our homeschooler.
Publishing through lulu.com is pretty simple as long as your uploaded files are sized to match the sizes allowed by the site. I recommend viewing the ‘templates’ before uploading your files. The site is fairly intuitive and walks you through the steps of uploading and organizing your content. In fact, older children will probably be able to complete the entire publishing process themselves. Don’t worry. There are plenty of opportunities to preview your content before you place your order so you can review your student’s publication before you place the order.
Use your imagination and have your student publish short stories, poems, works of art, photographs, recipes, a ‘year book’ or anything else that documents your child’s talents.
