Enter contests to highlight homeschooler’s achievement

Public school kids get regular ‘report cards’ to measure their progress. Some sports and extra-curricular activities reward students who can produce a ‘good’ report card. Homeschoolers mostly cannot produce a piece of paper showing their high achievement and young ones feel ‘left out’ when they see their public school peers receiving rewards for good report cards.

My idea is to have my child enter writing, art, poetry, science, math, etc. contests as often as possible. If contests aren’t your thing, try to find online learning activities that provide a printable certificate when the activity is completed. Awards and certificates can be presented instead of a report card to show achievement.
