Summer Homeschool? Try Funschool
Tuesday, July 22, 2008

We are enjoying the last few weeks of our break from official homeschool and have another trip or two on our list before we break out the books again. So, what else have we been up to? Well, we are focusing on fun! For a treat in the afternoon, our homeschooler goes online to the funschool website and plays some fun and educational games.
Here are some of his favorites:
- Action Fraction – The quicker you answer the fraction quiz, the faster your race car races around the track.
- Edwin Van Moon, Balloon Tycoon Learn Geography as the crow flies by navigating a hot air balloon around the world. Our homeschooler uses our globe when he needs help, but he really enjoys this game!
- Lightning Librarian A memorization game – Remember where all the subjects are shelved and retrieve the books for the students before they leave.
There are some not-so-educational games on this site and a few ads, so parents should spend some time evaluating the site before allowing young children to participate.
